  • Matthew West Shares New Song Take Heart
    on April 14, 2020 at 1:00 am

A personal note from Matthew West My family's happy place is the beach. I wish we could be there now. But like the rest of the world, we are on lockdown. I was thinking the other day about one particular windy day at the beach when I decided to take a dip in the ocean despite the especially strong waves. The waves were relentless, and kept hitting me one after the other. No matter how firmly I planted my feet in the sandy ocean floor, the waves were too much and knocked me over. That's how I've felt lately with the state of our world. Wave after of wave has hit me and threatened to take me under. Waves of doubt. Waves of fear. Waves of anxiety. Waves of financial pressure. Waves of questions. Waves of sleeplessness. But unlike that sand under my feet that gave way[...]

  • Former Downhere Co-Frontman Jason Germain Records New Song
    on April 14, 2020 at 1:00 am

It's been 8 years since contemporary Christian rock band Downhere ended their public ministry. While one of their co-frontmen, Marc Martel, has been very busy with a full load of solo projects, the other vocalist, Jason Germain, has been radio silent. Having switched exclusively to the production side of music, listeners haven't heard Germain's signature deep vocals since the final notes of "Reveal The Kingdom" closed out Downhere's final album. Until now. On Easter Sunday evening, Germain posted a lyric video to Facebook of a brand new Easter song he recorded with the church band for Stonebridge Bible Church. The song, possibly titled "He Is Alive," although not explicitly named in the post, celebrates the glory of the risen Christ and is a timely offering for the Easter season. As of this posting, the song is only available to stream through Facebook video. Stay tuned for[...]

    on April 14, 2020 at 1:00 am

NASHVILLE, TENN. (APRIL 09, 2020) Integrity Music announces the signing of Seattle-based band Citizens as they release their unique project, The Joy of Being (Phone Demos), today. The band set out to make a record of songs for the church to sing, without music and production overcoming the lyrics. To accomplish this goal, Citizens recorded this project on iPhones acoustically in an empty church. The Joy of Being (Phone Demos) features a collection of songs with lyric, melody and basic instrumentation that anyone could connect with and lead. As worship is moving from the sanctuary to the living room in this quarantine season, songs of substance and simple arrangements are more and more vital. "We wanted to make something that disrupted the norms of modern church music, specifically all the fanfare we (talking to ourselves here too) have put around production," shares Zach Bolen of Citizens.[...]

  • Psalm And H.U.R.T. Release New Single
    on April 14, 2020 at 1:00 am

Psalm has teamed up with California-native CHH artist H.U.R.T. to deliver an aggressively transparent commentary on the modern-day church institution. The song, titled 'Down We Go', is the fifth single to be released from Psalm's 10-track LP Hero's Lament. It is delivered over a progressive instrumental produced by J. Nihilo. The apathy, complacency, and compromise of God's people has caused God's word to become corroded and watered down. It has allowed a very real enemy to infiltrate the faith. Psalm and H.U.R.T.'s record address these issues with a straightforward and unapologetic approach. Check the lyric video for the new song below![...]
